SHEEM-PRO

SHEEM-PRO is a 450 hours course, designed and developed by the Academy of Sciences Company and WSO KSA. The course is highly beneficial for those professionals who have safety and management roles in the organization. The program is very unique and is much better than the available options because unlike another course in OH&S, it was based on skill-oriented basic management knowledge necessary for day to day occupational safety and emergency affairs of the organizations.

The curriculum is assessed via demonstration and 3 closed-book written exams (1 each per unit) comprising a total of 150 Marks in each assessment. The passing mark is 70% for each unit. The maximum time allowed for each examination is 3 to 6 hours and 0.5 to 1 hour for actual demonstration per student.

The curriculum has been carefully designed to meet industry requirements for occupational safety and emergency provisions. The existing diploma in OH&S only provides generic information about occupational health and safety only. While SHEEM-PRO has been designed in such a manner that upon completion of Unit 1, the student will be able to establish, implement, maintain, manage and continually improve the OH&S and Emergency Management System in their workplace. Unit 2 has given more emphasis on safety management related skills; training development and delivery; knowledge and information for the implementation of occupational safety and health provisions at the workplace. Unit 2 also provides the professionals with the core knowledge of safety auditing which they can translate into skill base for incident investigations, health risk assessments, health hazard control designs, and assessments, mathematical calculations and much more. Unit 3 is a set of modules for emergency mitigation based on the latest and best industry practice in the workplace environment.
